Alabama Supreme Court Allows BamaCarry to File an Amicus Brief

On Thursday, April 16, 2015, the Alabama Supreme Court granted BamaCarry’s request to appear before that court as an amicus curiae in the case of Tulley v. City of Jacksonville. BamaCarry has been granted permission to file an amicus brief addressing the issue of whether the Alabama Constitution prohibits a city (Jacksonville) from enacting an ordinance that limits the rights of the citizens of Alabama from lawful use, possession, and carry of a firearm. BamaCarry is being represented before the Alabama Supreme Court by Birmingham attorney Michael P. Hanle.

BamaCarry is an incorporated organization under Alabama law and operates as a non-profit. BamaCarry promotes and defends an individual’s right to keep and bear arms, as guaranteed by the Constitutions of the United States and the State of Alabama. BamaCarry seeks to achieve these goals through the use of educational opportunities, and grassroots organizing to ensure responsible ownership and carry of firearms in Alabama as permitted under the Constitution of Alabama.
